Prime Safaris & Tours Ltd tailors exciting Nile Experience rides! During your Jinja day trip mountain bike adventure, you will enjoy a ride of approximately 60km by the banks of the River Nile. This 1-day Jinja day tour ride will take through tropical rain forests, tea and sugar cane plantations and rural villages.
You will start and end your Jinja city tour adventure in Jinja town. You can choose to spend a night at one the most stunning camp sites; The Haven River Lodge overlooking some of the most spectacular rapids of the River Nile. In the evening after your Jinja day tour, enjoy a relaxing nature boat cruise where you will see beautiful birds and the local fisherman catching the fish of the day. Once arriving back on the land, you will then ride back to Jinja Town.
Cycling trails in Jinja
This trail takes you to explore the area around Bujagali Falls for a period of about 1½ – 2 hour guided bike ride. Cycle along single tracks through villages and small farms and with excellent views of the river along the way. You’ll enjoy your ride as the local children happily follow you along the trails.
Cycle up to Bugembe viewpoint to get a panoramic view of Lake Victoria and its surrounds, before heading down to explore Jinja town and the Source of the Nile. An optional boat ride from the lake to the Source can also be included.
Mabira Forest Reserve
Situated 20kms from Jinja, this beautiful forest is home to over 300 species of birds as well as numerous and some endangered species of butterfly, monkeys, plants and trees. Mabira Forest is ideal for mountain biking with its narrow tracks and shading canopy of trees. Cycling through villages, coffee, sugar and banana plantations you will get a real of taste of rural Uganda before heading into the main forest in search of monkeys and birds. This takes about 4 hours.
